From Autumn to Winter

Oh, how lovely everything is with a light dusting of snow. It’s early November and when we came up to the cabin this weekend, there was just enough snow on the ground to make us city dwellers be a bit giddy. Most if it is gone now — it’s just the first snow of the season — but it’s given us a tiny taste of what it will be like when we come up this winter.

Apparently this is an early first snow. We’re wondering if the prognosticators of this world will tell us this a sign of a heavy winter or a light one. We shall see. Of course, this now gives me a legitimate excuse to go buy those wonderful winter jackets and parkas I keep seeing at Land’s End, because now I’ll have a snow place where I can wear them!

*Sigh* I love our cabin.
